This is the last of the "Great Canadian" managed properties I'm reviewing.

None of these three casinos are going to win any beautiful building awards. But at least Ajax also won't win any embarrassing design awards.
This is a smaller casino than the other two. Maybe because Pickering nearby is "flashier", it gets more of a crowd, but I enjoyed the smaller space and the fact that they didn't pack in the machines. You could walk around without getting someone's ball cap up your nose.
A lot of nice games. I played the new Top Dollar and had some luck at it. Didn't try the new Pinball, although it was there. Against my better judgement I played Da Vinci Diamonds, but mostly played $0.75 Triple Stars. That was my favourite machine of the evening.
Went to the adjacent restaurant and got great service near closing, with some nice-sized tender chicken wings. Nice to have a place that isn't super-expensive where you can sit down and have a bite or a beer.
Of the three (Woodbine, Pickering, Ajax), this is the only one I would return to. It's definitely not a tourist destination, but if you have the time and you're around, this isn't a bad little place. Wound up going $100 over budget (Da Vinci Diamonds), but I also felt I would have done better if I'd remembered to bring my lucky Cowboy Slots chip. 😃
